There is much to be learnt from Australian and overseas organisations and they can provide great opportunities for networking, and relationship building with the presenting companies during and after the tour.

Ideal sized group - numbers are kept to around 14 to maximise the learning outcomes, provide the opportunity to ask many questions and to make it easy to get to know fellow participants.

Pre Workshop - a half-day workshop allows participants to establish a framework for effective learning to optimise the experience.

Critical Reflection - immediately following the final presentation for the day, time is spent with the tour facilitator reflecting on the presentations and looking at the information gathered in relation to the objectives set during the opening workshop.

Group Dynamics - an important part of the experience during the tour is the interaction within the group. The delegate mix is generally made up of senior executives from state and federal government departments and private enterprise. The opportunities for exchanging ideas and forming lasting contacts is a great benefit.

Private Dinners - these provide a relaxed environment for delegates to discuss the day's presentations and challenge each others ideas and those of the presenters visited that day. The dinners are fun and the debate lively.

Closing Workshop - the tour concludes with another half day workshop that is designed to ensure that the learning is integrated and accessible on return to the workplace.

Learning Journal - a journal is issued during the opening workshop as a means of recording information from the presentations and personal reflection.
